The mission of Boone County Senior Services, Inc. (BCSSI) is to promote independence and provide enriching opportunities for older adults in Boone County. Its purpose is to provide for the emotional, social, physical, and educational well being of older citizens.
Established in 1978, BCSSI now provides services to nearly 2,800 unduplicated seniors throughout the county. They offer programs and services through approximately 40 dedicated, loyal staff members, 15 faithful Board of Directors, and more than 300 caring volunteers. The agency is partially funded by INDOT, CICOA Aging and In-Home Solutions, United Way of Central Indiana, County Commissioners, fund raising activities, and donations from the other organizations (including our own foundation) and individuals. They welcome all to get to know them, and to offer input on how they can better serve older adults and their family/caregivers, while also providing transportation for individuals of all ages to keep them engaged in the community.
