Jewish Family Service is an agency on the northwest side of Indianapolis guided by Jewish values, customs and traditions. The mission of the JFS is to provide a coordinated approach to services that enhance the health, well-being and dignity of individuals and families throughout all stages of life.
Their programs include Parent’s Night Out, Survivor Services, Aging in Place, and Wheels to Wellness. The agency works to decrease food insecurity through Popsie’s Pantry, which is the only kosher food #pantry in Indiana. Their pantry serves both the Jewish and non-Jewish communities. They receive fresh produce weekly and distribute kosher for Passover food each year. The Libby and David Fogle Lunch Bunch is a congregate meal program for older adults that meets twice weekly to address food insecurity and social isolation by providing a nutritious meal and cultural programming. It is the only kosher lunch program in Indiana. The agency offers free transportation for grocery shopping for adult age 60 and over, Monday 9am -3pm. Stores visited depend on the preferences of the group each week.
